SPEEDoo is a marine drone, a remotely piloted water sampling system, to quickly and easily take water samples at sea, up to 500 meters from the coast. Here, the device is presented and tested in Sainte-Anne du Portzic. It was developed by two research units of the Ifremer Bretagne Center in Brest: DYNECO (Dynamics of the coastal environment) and RDT (Research and Technological Developments). Measuring 1 meter long and 30 cm wide, the device has multiple equipment that allows it to both take water samples and measure basic physicochemical elements in situ (temperature, salinity, etc.).
