Reeanctors dressed in replica uniforms of the Wehrmacht , the military forces of Nazi Germany, during a historical reenactment event commemorating the D-Day , the landing and associated airborne operations on 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy, France during World War II: Six men dressed in peaked caps ( Schirmmützen ), tunics ( Waffenröcke ) adorned with rank insignia and decorations, riding breeches, and high leather boots, portraying high-ranking officers and generals who served in the Luftwaffe (German air force) and Heer (German army). Photo taken by Conneaut Kid on 20th August 2011 and published in the Flickr album D-Day in Conneaut : D-Day Conneaut is the annual re-creation of the amphibious allied landings upon the beaches of Normandy France which took place on June 6th, 1944. The site is Conneaut Township Park, Conneaut Ohio, whose bluffs overlook a 250 yard beach This is a version of a photo that has been cropped and altered to obscure the subject's identity by placing a grey box over their eyes.
